Birth
Because the Right Support Matters
As your birth doula, I am there to offer support and guidance from the moment you hire me.
Working closely with my clients we can build a trusting and honest relationship and really get to know each other, allowing you to feel comfortable and confident with me by your side during one of life’s most precious events.

The support I offer can be of benefit however you plan to give birth to your baby, whether in hospital, on a midwifery-led unit, or at home. I can be that continuous presence from the beginning - throughout your pregnancy, during your labour and birth, and into your postnatal period, offering unwavering compassionate care.

Helping you in your birth preparation and planning, with antenatal sessions, in your own home, as well as being available for virtual support and guidance should you need it along the way.

Birth is unique and unpredictable,
So being aware of what could arise will enable you to feel calm and confident as you navigate your journey. Therefore, during our antenatal sessions we will explore birth physiology and how you can support this, birth hormones, and the stages of labour, along with practical comfort measures. We will go through possible interventions including induction and caesarean, discuss pharmaceutical pain relief, as well as what your birth options are, looking at the evidence to support this. By gaining this knowledge and understanding you will be able to feel clear in your decision making when it comes to what is right for you and your baby.
I will be available 24/7 once you reach 38 weeks so that once labour begins, I am able to offer you support from the moment you want or need it. It may be that I come to your home whilst you are labouring there, providing reassurance, and support with comfort measures. If you are planning to give birth in hospital or a midwifery-led unit I will be able to support you during your transfer from home and help protect your physiology as much as possible or, I can meet you at your place of birth when the time comes.

I will remain with you for the duration of your labour and birth, helping to support you and your birth partner with any practical needs, being an emotional comfort, ensuring your birth team are aware of your birth preferences, and advocating for you should you wish me to. Once your baby is born, I will continue to protect your birth space whilst you bond with your baby, offer guidance during your baby’s initial feeds, and capture this wonderful moment with photos and video, if you wish.
